Astrologers terms

These Astrologers’ Terms (“Terms”) govern your participation as an expert, i.e. “Astrologer” on the AstroLokal App (“Platform”), operated by Behtar Technology Private Limited (“we”, “us”, or “our”), a company incorporated under the laws of India.

In order to participate as an Astrologer, you are required to undergo a verification process conducted by our team prior to your appointment. Upon receiving access to the Platform as an Astrologer, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, which form a binding agreement between you and us. If you do not agree, you must not register or participate as an Astrologer.


  1. TERM
    These Terms shall commence on the date you are granted access to make yourself available as an Astrologer on the AstroLokal App and shall continue until terminated in accordance with these Terms. We may suspend or terminate your participation as an Astrologer at any time, with or without cause, by giving you notice (including via email or in-app notification). You may stop participating as an Astrologer at any time by emailing us at support@astrolokal.com. Termination shall not affect any rights or obligations that have accrued prior to termination.


  2. SCOPE OF SERVICES

    • The Astrologer shall provide engagement services to the Platform, which shall include:

      1. making themselves available for chat, audio and/or video calls via the Platform;

      2. engaging with Platform users during such calls in accordance with the Platform’s content, conduct, and community guidelines;

      3. permitting the use of their name, image, expertise, and profile information for display on the Platform and in related promotional materials. 

    • The Astrologer acknowledges that all such services are provided to the Platform for the purpose of enhancing the Platform’s offerings and user experience, and that the Platform acts solely as an intermediary with respect to any interactions between the Astrologer and Platform users.


  1. ELIGIBILITY FOR MONETISATION

    • Not all Astrologers’ are eligible to earn or withdraw earnings. To qualify for monetisation on the AstroLokal App, you must meet the following minimum requirements each calendar month (“Eligibility Criteria”):

      1. engage in live calls with multiple unique users; and

      2. participate in training(s) and complete certification(s), as required

      3. successfully complete KYC verification

      4. maintain compliance with the Platform’s Conduct and Content Standards without any suspensions for breach.

    • Only Astrologer who meet this Eligibility Criteria will be entitled to request payouts under Section 4 (Payment). The Platform may review and revise this Eligibility Criteria from time to time, and such revisions will be notified to you via the AstroLokal App or by SMS/Whatsapp.


  2. PAYMENT

    • In consideration for the Services, the Platform shall credit the Astrologer with earnings based on user spend attributable to their live interactions on the AstroLokal App, including per-call fees, as determined in accordance with the Platform’s prevailing earnings structure.

    • The earnings structure, applicable deductions (including any platform fees, taxes, or payment gateway charges), and calculation method shall be as communicated to the Astrologer from time to time via the AstroLokal App or by SMS, and may be modified by the Platform at its discretion. Continued participation as an Astrologer after any change to the earnings structure constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

    • The Astrologer may request a payout of their available earnings at any time once their account balance exceeds [INR 500],  or such other minimum threshold as may be notified by the Platform from time to time through the AstroLokal App or by SMS. All payouts will be made through the payment methods supported by the Platform and subject to successful completion of any verification, compliance, or tax requirements notified by the Platform, including the requirements set out in Clause 4.7 of these Terms.

    • The Astrologers’ shall not engage in any fraudulent, deceptive, or inauthentic activity (including but not limited to creating multiple accounts, generating fake calls, etc.) for the purpose of increasing earnings. Any earnings generated through such activity shall be forfeited and may lead to suspension or termination of the account.

    • The Platform’s calculation of earnings and balance shall be final and binding, absent manifest error.

    • Earnings displayed in your Astrologer account or dashboard are indicative only and represent the total amounts attributable to your activity on the AstroLokal App, before verification and applicable deductions.

    • We may require you to provide additional information, including your Permanent Account Number (PAN), for payouts above a threshold notified by us. You can withdraw any verified, available earnings being credited to your account. We may suspend or delay withdrawals if your account is under investigation for suspected breach of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or violation of law.


5. REPRESENTATIONS AND WARRANTIES

By agreeing to these Terms and participating as an Astrologer on the AstroLokal App, you represent, warrant and covenant to us that: 

  1. you are at least 18 years of age, have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms, and have all rights, licences, and permissions needed to perform the Services;

  2. your participation as an Astrologer and your use of the AstroLokal App will comply with all applicable laws and with the Platform’s guidelines, policies, and community standards, as updated from time to time;

  3. you will not engage in any conduct during your participation as an Astrologer that could harm the reputation of the AstroLokal App or Behtar Technology Private Limited;

  4. all information you provide to us is true, complete, and not misleading, and you will promptly update it if it changes;

  5. you will perform the Services in a diligent, professional, and timely manner, in line with generally accepted standards for online user engagement;

  6. any material you use or share during live interactions (including your voice, image, and any other content) will not infringe the rights of any third party, and you will be solely responsible for any losses arising from such infringement;

  7. you will not share, solicit, or promote any illegal, infringing, harmful, or misleading material during live interactions, and you will comply with all applicable laws relating to online communication; and

  8. you will respect the privacy and confidentiality of users and will not collect, store, or disclose any user information except as permitted under these Terms or applicable laws.

6. ACCOUNT INFORMATION

You must ensure that all information provided in your Astrologer account (including your name, contact details, payment information, and verification documents) is true, complete, and kept up to date. You must not provide false information, impersonate any person, or make changes to your account details in a way that misleads users or the Platform. We may require you to provide additional documents or verification if you change key account information, and may suspend or terminate your account if you fail to do so.

7. CONDUCT AND CONTENT STANDARDS

  • You must conduct yourself in a respectful, professional, and lawful manner at all times when using the AstroLokal App and while participating in live interactions with users.

  • Your conduct as an Astrologer on the Platform is governed by these Terms and the Platform's Community Guidelines, which are incorporated herein by reference and form part of your obligations under these Terms. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and the Community Guidelines, these Terms shall prevail.

  • Without limiting the generality of the above, you agree that you will:

    1. not engage in any fraudulent, deceptive, or inauthentic activity, including creating or using multiple accounts, generating fake calls, logging in without genuine activity, or exploiting any system bug, vulnerability, or loophole. Any technical issue, bug, payment error, or security vulnerability discovered must be promptly reported to us and not exploited;

    2. not solicit, request, or encourage any user to share their personal contact information, including phone number, email address, or social media handles, or arrange any communication, transaction, or engagement with users outside the AstroLokal App in a way that circumvents the Platform, including by directing them to competitor platforms;

    3. participate in training sessions if requested by the Platform and follow any guidelines or instructions provided during such sessions;

    4. not post, share, or communicate any material during live interactions that violates these Terms, our Community Guidelines, or applicable laws, including material that is offensive, harmful, illegal, or promotes unauthorised or illegal products or services;

    5. not engage in any form of harassment, including verbal abuse, sexual harassment, disrespectful comments based on culture, religion, belief, or personal characteristics, negative or derogatory remarks, or any conduct that creates an uncomfortable environment for users. All feedback or criticism must be constructive and presented respectfully;

    6. not solicit or promote any religious belief, non-belief, or point of view to users, except where directly relevant to the topic of a live conversation and conducted respectfully;

    7. not make any representations, predictions, or statements during sessions that could reasonably be construed as medical, legal, or financial advice, and where relevant, direct users to appropriate qualified professionals;

    8. not record, reproduce, copy, screenshot, or share any part of live audio or video interactions or any session summary or prior interaction data made available through the Platform, outside the AstroLokal App or after the conclusion of the session, or permit others to do so. Any such information accessed through the Platform may be used only for the purpose of conducting the current session; and

    9. not use any session summary or prior interaction data for any purpose other than conducting the current session with the relevant user.

  • We may monitor, review, or record live interactions for purposes of safety, quality control, and compliance with these Terms, and may remove or restrict you from the AstroLokal App if, in our sole discretion, we believe you have violated these Terms, our guidelines, or applicable laws.

  • You must at all times comply with the Platform’s Privacy Policy, Terms and Conditions, Community Guidelines, Content Policies, and/or any other rules communicated to you, as updated from time to time.


8. SUSPENSION AND REMOVAL

  • We may, at our discretion, suspend, restrict, or remove your access to the AstroLokal App (including your Astrologer profile or ability to participate in live interactions) if we believe you have breached these Terms, our guidelines, or applicable laws, or if we consider it necessary for safety, legal compliance, or operational reasons.

  • You acknowledge that we are not responsible for any loss of earnings, opportunities, data, or any other loss or damage you may suffer as a result of such suspension, restriction, or removal, and that no compensation will be payable in such cases.

  • Any removal or suspension under this clause does not limit our other rights or remedies under these Terms or at law.


9. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS

  • You will retain ownership of any material you create or share during your live interactions on the AstroLokal App, subject to any rights in third-party material you may include. You are solely responsible for ensuring that you have all rights, licences, and permissions needed to use such material.

  • You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to access, stream, transmit, store, and otherwise make available your live interactions to users of the AstroLokal App in accordance with these Terms. This includes the right to store and process interaction content for the following purposes

    1. moderation, safety, and legal compliance;

    2. generating session summaries derived from your interactions with users, which may be made available to Astrologers conducting future sessions with the same user solely to enable continuity of guidance; and

    3. improving the quality, safety, and performance of the Platform, including through the use of aggregated or de-identified data.

  • This licence will automatically end when the content is deleted from our systems in the ordinary course of business, subject to any retention obligations under applicable law.

  • You must not use any third-party intellectual property (including music, videos, images, artworks, or text) in your live interactions in a way that infringes the rights of others or breaches applicable licence terms. If we notify you, or you become aware, that your material breaches this clause, you must immediately remove or stop using the infringing material.

  • Nothing in these Terms transfers to us any ownership rights in your material, and nothing in these Terms transfers to you any ownership rights in the AstroLokal App, our trademarks, or any other intellectual property owned by Behtar Technology Private Limited.


10. CONFIDENTIALITY

  • You must keep confidential and not share with any third party any non-public information you receive or become aware of through your participation as an Astrologer, including:

    1. personal information or details about AstroLokal App users;

    2. information about the operation, technology, or policies of the AstroLokal App; and

    3. any other information marked or reasonably understood to be confidential (“Confidential Information”).

  • You may use Confidential Information only for the purpose of performing the Services and must protect it with at least the same degree of care you use to protect your own confidential information.

  • You may disclose Confidential Information only if required by law or legal process, and then only to the extent required and after giving us prompt notice (where permitted) so that we may seek protective measures.

  • Data Processing Obligations. You acknowledge that in the course of your participation as an Astrologer, you may have access to personal data of users of the Platform, including session summaries of prior interactions. In this regard, you agree that:

    1. you will process such personal data only for the purpose of conducting the session and providing guidance to the user in that session, and for no other purpose whatsoever;

    2. you will not store, copy, screenshot, record, or retain any user personal data outside the Platform, whether in physical or electronic form;

    3. you will not share, disclose, transmit, or otherwise make available any user personal data to any third party under any circumstances;

    4. you will implement reasonable measures to ensure the security of any user personal data you access through the Platform and will not take any action that could compromise the security or confidentiality of such data;

    5. you will comply with all applicable data protection laws, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, in relation to any user personal data you access through the Platform; and

    6. you will immediately notify us at support@astrolokal.com if you become aware of any actual or suspected unauthorised access to, disclosure of, or breach involving user personal data.

  • You acknowledge that Behtar Technology Private Limited acts as the data fiduciary in respect of user personal data accessible through the Platform, and that you act as a data processor in relation to such data. Your obligations under this clause shall survive termination of these Terms.

  • These confidentiality obligations will continue to apply even after you stop participating as an Astrologer.


11. INDEMNITY

  • You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Behtar Technology Private Limited, its affiliates, directors, officers, employees, agents, successors, and assigns (collectively, the "Indemnified Parties") from and against any and all claims, demands, proceedings, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees and costs of investigation) arising out of or in connection with:

    1. your participation as an Astrologer on the AstroLokal App, including any act or omission in the course of providing services through the Platform;

    2. any breach by you of these Terms or of any representation, warranty, or obligation undertaken by you hereunder;

    3. any content, material, or conduct in your live interactions that infringes the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of, or otherwise causes harm to, any person or entity;

    4. any misuse, unauthorised retention, disclosure, or processing of user personal data or session summaries accessed by you through the Platform, including any violation of applicable data protection laws;

    5. any violation of applicable law by you, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the Information Technology Act, 2000, and any other law applicable to your participation as an Astrologer; or

    6. any claim, notice, or action by a government or regulatory authority arising from your acts or omissions while participating as an Astrologer on the AstroLokal App.

  • The Indemnified Parties reserve the right to assume exclusive control over the defence and settlement of any matter subject to indemnification under this clause, at your cost. You agree to cooperate fully with the Indemnified Parties in the defence of any such claim and shall not settle any claim without the prior written consent of the relevant Indemnified Party.

  • Your obligations under this clause shall survive the termination or expiry of these Terms and shall continue to apply even after you cease to participate as an Astrologer on the Platform.


12. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable to you for any indirect, incidental, consequential, punitive, or special damages, including loss of earnings, opportunities, data, or goodwill. Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall not exceed INR 1000 (Rupees One Thousand Only). Nothing in these Terms limits your liability to us for any breach of these Terms, infringement of third-party rights, or violation of law.


13. TERMINATION

  • These Terms will continue to apply until terminated by either you or us.

  • You may terminate your participation as an Astrologer at any time by closing your Astrologer account through the AstroLokal App.

  • We may terminate your participation as an Astrologer, or terminate these Terms as they apply to you, at any time and for any reason, including where:

    1. you breach these Terms, our guidelines, or applicable laws;

    2. we believe your conduct may harm the AstroLokal App, its users, or our reputation; or

    3. we discontinue offering the Astrologer programme.

  • If your account is terminated or suspended due to a breach of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or violation of applicable laws, we may withhold payment of any earnings that we reasonably determine are connected to such breach or activity, pending investigation. Any earnings found to have been generated through fraudulent, deceptive, or prohibited means will be forfeited. All other legitimate, verified earnings will be paid to you in accordance with Clause Termination will not affect any rights or obligations that have accrued prior to termination, including any rights we may have to recover amounts from you or your obligation to maintain confidentiality and provide indemnity under these Terms.


14. GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. You agree that the courts in Bengaluru, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes or claims arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your participation as an Astrologer.


15. GRIEVANCE MECHANISM

If you have any complaint, concern, or grievance in relation to your participation as an Astrologer on the Platform, including in respect of earnings calculations, payout disputes, suspension or removal decisions, or any other matter arising under these Terms, you may raise the same by contacting us through the following channels:

16. MISCELLANEOUS

  • Relationship: Nothing in these Terms creates any partnership, joint venture, agency, employment, or other similar relationship between you and us, and you have no authority to bind us in any way.

  • Assignment: You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign or transfer our rights and obligations to any affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of business without your consent.

  • No Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not constitute a waiver of such right or provision, and any waiver must be in writing to be effective.

  • Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

  • Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with the Platform Terms and policies referenced in them, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding your participation as a Astrologer and supersede all prior understandings on the same subject.

  • Non-Exclusivity: Your engagement as a Astrologer is non-exclusive, and we may engage other individuals or entities to provide the same or similar services.

  • Survival: Clauses relating to confidentiality, intellectual property, indemnity, limitation of liability, and any other provisions intended to survive termination will continue to apply after you stop participating as a Astrologer.
