We have set out these Terms of Use (“Terms”) to help ensure that everyone has a safe, respectful, and smooth experience on the AstroLokal App. These Terms also incorporate, by reference, the specific Terms of Use applicable to Astrologers, which are accessible here- Astrologers’ Terms.

These Terms apply to your use of our website (available at: astrolokal.com) and mobile application (“App”) (available on Google Play Store and Apple App Store) (collectively, “AstroLokal App”). The App is operated by Behtar Technology Private Limited (“Company”), a company registered in India with its office at 1501, 19th Main Rd., Sector- 1, HSR Layout, Bangalore, Karnataka- 560102.

“We”, “our” or “us” refers to Behtar Technology Private Limited, and “you” or “your” refers to any user of the AstroLokal App.

These Terms must be read together with our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines (collectively, the “Platform Policies”). By using the AstroLokal App and agreeing to the Platform Policies when signing up, you confirm that you have read and accepted them. If you do not agree to any of the Platform Policies, please do not use the AstroLokal App. 

Please also ensure that you are permitted to access and use the AstroLokal App under the laws of your jurisdiction.

ABOUT THE APP

AstroLokal App is a platform that allows users to connect and interact with experts offering astrology-related services through one-on-one chat, audio and video calls. These interactions are entirely voluntary and initiated at the users’ discretion. Chat and calls can be initiated using coins, which can be purchased within the app. AstroLokal App also offers an AI chat feature called “AI Astro”. AI Astro is an AI chatbot that is designed to interact with you in a respectful manner. You agree to Users must follow the Platform Policies (including our Community Guidelines) and take responsibility for how you they use the AI chatbot feature.

AI Astro is an AI Astro chatbot, not a real person, and can make mistakes. Anything that AI Astro says should not be considered as fact or advice.

While you are free to choose whom you interact with, certain types of behaviour and interactions are strictly not allowed. Please refer to our Community Guidelines to understand what is permitted and what is prohibited on the AstroLokal App.

By starting a transaction to use any of these Services, you agree that you are entering into a legally binding agreement with us for the provision of those Services.

CHANGES TO THE TERMS

We may update the Platform Policies from time to time, including to reflect changes in the services we offer or to improve how the AstroLokal App operates. This may include modifying, disabling, or removing certain features or services, either temporarily or permanently, at our discretion.

Where any change is material or affects your rights or obligations, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, for example, by updating this page or showing an in-app notification.

If any change requires your consent under applicable law, we will obtain it before implementing the change.

By continuing to use the AstroLokal App after updated Platform Policies take effect, you agree to be bound by them. We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed about any updates.

ELIGIBILITY

You can use the AstroLokal App and avail the Services we provide only if you are capable of forming a binding agreement with us. You need to be at least 18 (Eighteen) years of age. Further, you must be legally permitted to use the AstroLokal App and Services as per the laws of your country.

You may not use the AstroLokal App or Services if you are located in, or are a resident of, any jurisdiction where the use or provision of our Services is prohibited by applicable law, regulation, treaty, or administrative act, or if you are otherwise prohibited by applicable law from entering into trade or commercial relations with us.

If you do not meet these eligibility requirements, please do not access or use the AstroLokal App or Services.

SIGNING UP

To use the AstroLokal App, you must create an account by registering your mobile number and completing the one-time password (OTP) verification process. Upon successful registration, you may be required to provide additional information to complete your profile in order to fully access and use the Services available on the AstroLokal App. For details on how this information is collected and used, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration and to keep it up to date. You are responsible for all activity that takes place through your account, so please keep your login credentials secure. If you notice any unauthorised use of your account, please contact our support team immediately. 

Your use of the App means you agree to how we handle your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy Please review it to understand what data we collect and how we use it.

Subject to our Platform Policies, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use the App and Services. This includes any software we provide as part of the App, which may be updated automatically from time to time.

ACCOUNT SUSPENSION, BLOCKING, OR DELETION

We may suspend, block, or delete your account in the following circumstances:

• If your account remains inactive for a prolonged period, as defined in our internal policies

• If we are directed to do so by a competent authority under applicable law

• If you violate any of our Platform Policies.

Where possible, we will notify you before taking such action. However, we reserve the right to act without notice in cases involving legal obligations, serious violations, or risk to the safety of other users or the AstroLokal App.

USER OBLIGATIONS

Use the AstroLokal App Lawfully and Respectfully 

You must not use the AstroLokal App in a way that:

• violates any law (in India or elsewhere)

• attempts to bypass technical protections, or interfere with or overload our systems, for example, by spamming features, introducing malicious code, scraping data, attempting unauthorised access, or using automated tools or scripts to misuse the AstroLokal App

• interferes with other users’ experience

• infringes any intellectual property rights (ours or others)

Provide Accurate Information

You must provide accurate and complete information, including your correct phone number and gender, when creating or using your AstroLokal account. You must not provide false, misleading, or inaccurate information or impersonate another person while using the AstroLokal App.

Keep Your Account Secure

You are responsible for all activity on your account. Do not share your login credentials, phone number, OTPs, or payment details with anyone. We are not liable if you choose to share such information with other users.

Do not allow anyone else to access or use your account. Each account is tied to a single phone number and must only be used by the individual who registered it.

If another user asks you for sensitive information, report them to us immediately.

Follow our Community Guidelines

All interactions on the AstroLokal App must follow our Community Guidelines . If you violate them, we may take action such as suspending or permanently terminating your account. You may write to us at support@astrolokal.com or grievance.officer@astrolokal.com if you wish to appeal any action taken. 

Do Not Share Prohibited Content

You must not use the AstroLokal App to share any content that is illegal, harmful, or violates our Community Guidelines . This includes, but is not limited to, content that is obscene, discriminatory, promotes hate or violence, or is harmful to minors.

For a complete list of what is and is not allowed on the AstroLokal App, please read our Community Guidelines . We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these policies and take appropriate action against your account.This applies equally to what you type into AI Astro. You must not use AI Astro to seek or generate unlawful, harmful, sexual, abusive or misleading content, or try to bypass its safeguards.

Violation of this clause may result in suspension or termination of access to the Platform and such other action as may be required under applicable law.

Legal Disclosures and Our Liability

We may share your information with law enforcement or other authorities if required to do so by law, or if we believe it is reasonably necessary to:

• Respond to a valid legal request

• Protect the rights, safety, or property of AstroLokal App, its users, or the public

• Prevent fraud, misuse, or security risks

Please note that while we work to keep the AstroLokal App safe, we are not responsible for the actions of other users, whether on or off the AstroLokal App.

Respect Intellectual Property 

You retain ownership of any content you create and share. However, you must not use the AstroLokal App to violate anyone else’s intellectual property rights, including ours.

If you use content provided by AstroLokal App, we retain ownership of all related intellectual property rights. Any unauthorised use may result in suspension or termination of your account, or other appropriate action in accordance with our Platform Policies.

Deleting Your Account and Data Retention

You can delete your account at any time. If you do, we may retain some of your data for a limited period in case you choose to reactivate it. To learn more about how we use, store, or delete your information, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

COMMUNICATIONS

By creating an account or using the AstroLokal App or Services, you agree that AstroLokal may communicate with you in connection with your account, transactions, use of the App and Services, and other matters relating to your relationship with AstroLokal. Such communications may be sent through the App, website, email, SMS, WhatsApp Business Messages, phone calls, or any other communication channel made available by AstroLokal from time to time.

These communications may include account-related information, transaction and payment updates, service-related notifications, appointment or session-related communications, security alerts, important updates to the App or Services, policy or Terms updates, and communications relating to complaints, grievances, or support requests.

Where required under applicable law, AstroLokal will obtain your consent before sending promotional or marketing communications. You may opt out of promotional communications at any time by mailing us at support@astrolokal.com. You may continue to receive essential service, transactional, security, and other communications that are necessary for the provision and administration of the App and Services.

You are responsible for ensuring that the contact details provided by you, including your phone number and email address, are accurate and up to date. AstroLokal shall not be responsible for any failure to receive communications resulting from incorrect or outdated contact information provided by you.

OUR RESPONSIBILITY AND LIMITATIONS

AstroLokal App provides a platform that facilitates connections between Users and independent third-party Experts through one-on-one chat, audio and video calls. AstroLokal acts as an intermediary under applicable Indian law and does not itself provide astrological consultations or professional advice. AstroLokal App does not create, control, or endorse the content, predictions, advice, or interactions provided by such Experts.

As an intermediary, AstroLokal takes reasonable measures to facilitate access to its Services and to comply with its due diligence obligations under applicable laws, including requirements relating to privacy, transparency, and user safety. However, AstroLokal does not exercise editorial control over user-generated content or the advice and interactions provided by Experts.

Astrological consultations and other guidance provided through the AstroLokal App are intended solely for personal insight, reflection, and informational purposes. They do not constitute professional medical, legal, financial, psychological or other professional advice. This also applies to any message or in-app notification we send you, including follow-ups or reminders. Users should consult appropriately qualified professionals for advice relating to medical, legal, financial, or other professional matters. AstroLokal does not guarantee or make any representation regarding the accuracy, completeness, suitability, or outcome of any prediction, advice, or guidance provided by an Expert.

Each Expert is solely responsible for the predictions, advice, and guidance provided by them. AstroLokal does not assume responsibility or control over the conduct, statements, advice, or actions of any Expert or other third-party service provider.

AstroLokal does not provide, endorse, or guarantee any medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, medication, test, product, or procedure that may be communicated by an Expert or other third-party service provider. Any such information should not be treated as a substitute for consultation with an appropriately qualified healthcare professional. Users should seek professional medical advice for any health-related concerns, including diagnosis, treatment, medication, or other healthcare decisions.

Any educational material, graphics, research sources, or other incidental information available through the AstroLokal App should not be construed as medical, legal or financial advice or as a recommendation or endorsement of any particular treatment, medication, product, test, or procedure.

AstroLokal does not guarantee any particular outcome from the use of the Services and is not responsible for any decision or action taken by a User based on the advice, predictions, or guidance provided by an Expert. Users are responsible for exercising their own judgment before relying on any such advice or guidance.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, any claim, dispute, or legal remedy arising from the acts or omissions of an Expert, User, or other third party should be pursued against the party whose acts or omissions gave rise to such claim. Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit or exclude any liability of AstroLokal that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

We may assign or transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms, in whole or in part, to any third party, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, corporate restructuring, or by operation of law. You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent.

THIRD-PARTY LINKS AND TOOLS

The AstroLokal App may contain links to external websites or include third-party features, such as AI tools or social sharing options. These are operated independently and are not controlled by us.

We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party site or service. Your use of such features is at your own discretion and will be governed by their own terms and policies.

AI FEATURES AND THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

About AI Astro. The Platform offers AI-powered features, including AI Astro, an AI chatbot. AI Astro is not a human and not an Expert, and references to Experts in these Terms do not include AI Astro. It generates responses automatically based on your inputs. Any display image or persona used for AI Astro is AI-generated.

No Advice or Guarantee. All AI-generated content is automated and interpretative and may be inaccurate, incomplete or unsuitable for you. It should not be treated as fact or advice. The Company does not guarantee the accuracy, reliability, or suitability of such content, and it does not constitute professional, legal, medical, financial, psychological or other professional advice. Please do not rely on AI Astro for important decisions; consult a qualified professional. Use of AI-generated content is at the User’s own discretion and risk.

Not a Crisis Service. AI Astro is not a counselling, therapy or emergency service. If you feel unsafe or may harm yourself or others, please contact emergency services or a helpline (see “Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability”).

Safeguards. We may use automated tools to monitor AI Astro conversations for safety and legal compliance, as described in the Privacy Policy. We may decline, redirect or end a conversation, or restrict access, where we consider it necessary for safety or compliance.

Intermediary Status. In respect of content shared/echanged by users and Experts, the Company acts as an intermediary under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and applicable Intermediary Guidelines, does not initiate, select, modify, or endorse that content and shall not be liable for it except as required under applicable law. Nothing in these Terms is an admission as to the legal characterisation of AI Astro, and we reserve all rights and defences available under applicable law.

Third-Party Services. The Platform may rely on third-party services, including AI technology providers. The Company does not control or assume responsibility for the availability or performance of such third-party services.

Consent and Policies. By using the AI features, users agree to comply with the Community Guidelines (including “AI Chatbot Use”). Your data is processed as described in the Privacy Policy. Before you first use AI Astro, we will ask you to confirm that you understand it is an AI that can make mistakes.

Notifications. AI Astro will not send you unsolicited messages to push you to continue or pay for a chat.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Your use of AstroLokal App must comply with all applicable laws on copyright, trademarks, patents, and other intellectual property rights. You are responsible for ensuring that anything you do on the AstroLokal App does not violate someone else’s rights.

We own all intellectual property rights in the content, design, features, and trademarks made available by the AstroLokal App. This includes our name, logo, and software. You may not copy, use, or distribute any of this without our permission.

If any third-party content or tools appear on the AstroLokal App, the rights in that material remain with the respective owners. You may need to get their permission if you wish to use it outside the AstroLokal App.

We respect the intellectual property rights of others and expect users to do the same. If you infringe someone’s rights, you may be held directly responsible.

PAYMENT TERMS

Virtual coins (“Coins”) are virtual items made available on the AstroLokal App as part of our Services. They are not sold to you as physical or tangible goods. When you purchase Coins, you receive a limited, revocable, non-transferable licence to access and use those digital features within the AstroLokal App in accordance with these Terms.

You can purchase Coins within the AstroLokal App using the payment methods made available by us, including payment gateways, and other authorised channels. Purchases are processed by third-party payment providers and are subject to their terms, fees, and any applicable currency conversion charges. We are not responsible for delays, failures, or errors caused by these providers.

The price of Coins will be displayed at the point of sale and will include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. You are responsible for paying all taxes, fees, and charges imposed by your payment provider. Once payment is successfully processed, your account will be credited with the corresponding number of Coins. All purchases are final and non-refundable to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Coins can be used exclusively on the AstroLokal App for one-on-one chats, audio calls, and video calls with Astrologers/Experts. Coins cannot be exchanged for cash, legal tender, credit, or any item of value, and cannot be used for trading on or off the AstroLokal App. They may not be combined with promotions, coupons, or discounts except where we allow this.

Coins will expire automatically if not used within six (6) months (182 days) from the date of purchase. Expired Coins are forfeited without notice, refund, or compensation. Coins are non-transferable and cannot be assigned, sold, bartered, or otherwise disposed of except by us. Coins do not constitute property and are not transferable upon death or by operation of law. If your account is suspended or terminated for breach of these Terms or applicable law, Coins in your account will be forfeited without refund or compensation. Coins may also be used for chats with AI Astro at the rate shown in the App before you start.

The price of Coins may change from time to time due to promotional offers, bundle variations, or other factors determined by us. We may also change expiry periods or usage rules at any time. Continued purchase or use of Coins after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

We may revoke your eligibility to purchase Coins, cancel a transaction, delay or block payment, or restrict payment methods if we believe it is necessary to prevent fraud, comply with applicable law, or address unauthorised or suspicious activity. We may also report suspected fraudulent or unlawful conduct to the relevant authorities.

Coins and related features are provided on an as is where is basis without warranties, guarantees, or representations of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. You are responsible for ensuring that your purchase, possession, and use of Coins is permitted under the laws of your jurisdiction.

DISCLAIMERS AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

The AstroLokal App and Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. AstroLokal does not make any express or implied representations or warranties regarding the App, Services, or content made available through the App, including as to accuracy, reliability, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, title, non-infringement, availability, or suitability for any particular purpose.

AstroLokal does not warrant that the App or Services will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, error-free, or free from defects, or that any errors will be corrected. AstroLokal may suspend or restrict access to the App or any part of the Services from time to time for maintenance, technical reasons, security reasons, or other circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

Expert Services and Content

AstroLokal provides a platform through which Users may access services including astrological consultations, tarot readings, numerology, predictions, live chat, audio and video consultations, and other related services as may be made available from time to time.

Experts operate in their independent capacity and are not employees, agents, or representatives of AstroLokal. AstroLokal may verify certain qualifications, credentials, certifications, background information, or other eligibility criteria provided by Experts as part of its onboarding or verification process. Such verification does not constitute an endorsement or guarantee of the accuracy, quality, suitability, legality, reliability, or outcome of any advice, prediction, consultation, remedy, product, or service provided by an Expert.

Astrological consultations and other guidance provided by Experts are based on their individual knowledge, experience, beliefs, interpretations, and practices and may differ from one Expert to another. AstroLokal does not guarantee or make any representation regarding the accuracy, reliability, effectiveness, or outcome of any prediction, advice, consultation, mantra, yantra, gemstone, puja, havan, or other astrological remedy recommended or provided by an Expert.

Any decision or action taken by a User based on the advice, predictions, recommendations, or guidance of an Expert is made at the User’s own discretion and risk. User should exercise their own judgment before relying on or acting upon any such advice or recommendation.

AI Chatbot / AI Astro

AstroLokal may provide AI-enabled features, including an AI Chatbot or AI Astro service, as part of the App. The AI Chatbot uses artificial intelligence to generate responses based on information, prompts, and inputs provided by the User.

Responses generated by the AI Chatbot are intended for general informational, personal insight, and entertainment purposes only. Such responses may not always be accurate, complete, current, or suitable for the User’s particular circumstances and may differ from responses generated by other Experts or users.

AI-generated responses should not be treated as professional medical, legal, financial, psychological, or other professional advice, or as a substitute for advice from an appropriately qualified professional. Users should not rely on AI-generated responses for decisions involving health, safety, legal rights, financial matters, or other matters requiring professional judgment.

AstroLokal does not guarantee the accuracy, reliability, completeness, appropriateness, or outcome of any response or information generated by the AI Chatbot. Users are responsible for independently evaluating any AI-generated response before relying on or acting upon it.

Medical and Other Professional Advice

AstroLokal and its Experts do not provide professional medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice unless expressly stated otherwise in the applicable Service description. Any information relating to health, mental health, medication, treatment, diagnosis, or other healthcare matters provided through the App should not be treated as a substitute for consultation with an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.

AstroLokal does not endorse or guarantee the safety, suitability, effectiveness, or appropriateness of any medication, treatment, test, product, procedure, or other healthcare-related recommendation made by an Expert or generated through the AI Chatbot. Users should consult an appropriately qualified professional before making decisions relating to their health, treatment, medication, finances, legal matters, or other areas requiring professional advice.

User Interactions and Third-Party Conduct

Users acknowledge that Experts and other Users are independent third parties. AstroLokal does not control or endorse every statement, prediction, recommendation, interaction, or action of any Expert or User.

AstroLokal may take appropriate action against an Expert or User, including restricting or removing access to the App, where it identifies a violation of applicable law, these Terms, Community Guidelines, or other applicable policies. However, such measures do not mean that AstroLokal reviews, controls, or endorses every interaction on the App.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, AstroLokal shall not be responsible for any loss, damage, claim, decision, or action arising from or relating to the acts or omissions of an Expert, User, or other third party, including any reliance placed on advice, predictions, recommendations, or other content provided by them.

App, Content and Technical Limitations

AstroLokal does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or availability of any information, content, data, software, functionality, or other material made available through the App. AstroLokal shall not be responsible for any loss or damage arising from technical interruptions, delays, transmission failures, unauthorised access, errors, omissions, or other technical issues affecting the App or Services, except to the extent such liability cannot be excluded under applicable law.

Users access and use the App and any content or information made available through it at their own discretion and risk. Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their account credentials and devices and for taking reasonable precautions against unauthorised access, malware, or loss of data.

AstroLokal may use automated tools to detect and moderate certain chats, calls, or other interactions for safety and compliance purposes, as described in the Privacy Policy. This does not mean that AstroLokal routinely reviews, monitors, or endorses every interaction.

Force Majeure

AstroLokal shall not be responsible for any failure or delay in providing the Services to the extent caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including acts of God, government actions, war, pandemics, cyber-attacks, telecommunications or internet disruptions, natural disasters, or other events beyond its reasonable control.

INDEMNITY

By using the AstroLokal App, you agree to take full responsibility for your actions. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Company, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, successors, and assigns from and against any claims, demands, proceedings, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with:

1. your access to or use of the AstroLokal App or Services;

2. any breach of these Terms by you;

3. any violation by you of another person’s rights, including intellectual property, privacy, or consumer protection rights;

4. any violation of law or contractual obligations by you;

5. your negligence or wilful misconduct.

6. your inputs to, or misuse of, AI Astro, including any attempt to bypass its safeguards.

This obligation will continue to apply even after these Terms have ended.

We reserve the sole right to manage, settle, or resolve any claims brought against us, without requiring your prior approval. You agree to cooperate with us, at our request, in defending or settling any such claims.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, AstroLokal and its directors, officers, employees, affiliates, agents, contractors, partners, licensors, and service providers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive, exemplary, or consequential loss or damage, including loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or in connection with:

1. your use of, or inability to use, the App or Services;

2. any interaction with an Expert, User, or other third party through the App;

3. any errors, omissions, inaccuracies, or other deficiencies in content made available through the App, including AI-generated content or responses;

4. any reliance placed on predictions, advice, recommendations, or other content provided or generated through the App; or

5. any suspension, interruption, termination, or unavailability of the App or Services.

Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in these Terms, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, AstroLokal’s total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the App or Services shall not exceed INR 1,000 (Indian Rupees One Thousand).

Nothing in these Terms shall exclude or limit any liability, right, or remedy that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

DISPUTE RESOLUTION

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of India. Any disputes or claims arising from or in connection with these Terms, the AstroLokal App, or the Services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka.

TERMINATION AND REMEDIES

These Terms take effect from the date you accept them and continue until terminated.

We may suspend or terminate your account, or restrict access to the AstroLokal App or specific features, at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms, misused the AstroLokal App, or engaged in unlawful or inappropriate conduct (on or off the AstroLokal App). This may include cancelling subscriptions without refund and reporting your conduct to law enforcement.

Termination includes removal of access to your account and deletion of related information, in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We are not liable to you or any third party for any such action.

Provisions that by their nature should survive, such as those relating to dispute resolution, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnity, will remain in effect even after termination.

Unauthorised use of the AstroLokal App or Services may lead to action under these Terms or applicable law.

If you have any complaints, concerns, or grievances regarding your rights under these Terms, or the Services provided to you, (including AI Astro), you can contact us through the following channels. We will require the phone number linked to your account in order to process and resolve any grievance.
